Nel Buio

**Nel Buio** is an Italian **black wave** project that emerged in Autumn 2023, founded by Clod "the Ripper" De Rosa (known for his work with Blasphemer and ex-Septycal Gorge). The name means "in the dark" in Italian, and the project combines black metal with 80s darkwave influences to create a unique sonic blend. The full lineup includes Neil Grotti on guitars and Francesco Vellacifer on drums, both of whom have also performed with Electrocution and Blasphemer.

The band released their self-titled debut EP in 2024 to critical acclaim, followed by their debut full-length album in 2025, also titled *Nel Buio*, which was released through Avantgarde Music. Their music features layered synths blended with heavy instrumentation, tremolo picking, blast beats, and a mix of black metal screams, growls, and melodic clear singing, all underpinned by lyrics exploring tragic themes. With their polished production and innovative fusion of black metal aggression and darkwave atmosphere, Nel Buio has quickly established themselves as an interesting voice in the contemporary metal underground.
