Fatso Jetson

Fatso Jetson is an American desert rock band hailing from Palm Desert, California, known for pioneering the desert rock sound that emerged during the early 1990s. The band was formed in 1994 by Mario Lalli, his cousin Larry Lalli, and Tony Tornay. Mario, also known as "Boomer," is a significant figure in the desert rock scene and has been influential to the genre, often times hosting so-called "generator parties" which were instrumental in the rise of the desert scene. These informal shows eventually laid the groundwork for what would become the desert rock movement, with Fatso Jetson being one of the first bands to shape its sound—a melding of punk, psychedelic rock, blues, and other genres into a distinct musical experience.

Over the years, Fatso Jetson has maintained a steady presence in the rock scene, cultivating a devoted fan base with their eclectic style and live performances. Their discography includes a mix of studio albums and live recordings that capture the raw energy of their sound. Their most recent releases such as "Legends of the Desert Volume 3," a split record with fellow desert rock band Yawning Man, and "Live From Total Annihilation," showcase the band's enduring commitment to musical evolution while staying true to the desert rock ethos. With a career spanning over two decades, Fatso Jetson continues to solidify their legacy as desert rock stalwarts, contributing not only a unique sound but also a chapter to the history of Southern Californian rock music.
