Seven Hours After Violet is an American metalcore band formed in 2024 by Shavo Odadjian, the bassist of System of a Down. The band features a diverse lineup, including Taylor Barber on vocals, Michael "Morgoth" Montoya on guitar, Alejandro Aranda on guitar and backing vocals, and Josh Johnson on drums. Their debut album, self-titled as "Seven Hours After Violet," was released on October 11, 2024, and includes tracks like "Paradise," "Alive," and "Radiance." The band made their live debut at the SiriusXM Garage and performed at the 2024 Mayhem Festival.
The band's formation was a result of Odadjian's desire to have a continuous musical project outside of System of a Down's sporadic performances. With their energetic sound and dynamic lineup, Seven Hours After Violet has quickly gained attention in the metalcore scene. Their music videos, such as "Paradise" and "Radiance," have also been well-received, showcasing the band's visual and musical creativity.
