Daniel Thomson is a London-based tenor soloist, recitalist, and chamber singer originally from Melbourne, Australia. Known for his expressive text-based performances and interpretations of Evangelist roles, Thomson specializes in historically informed performances of music from the 16th to 19th centuries. He completed his Bachelor of Music with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and a Master in Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland in 2018.
Thomson has performed as a soloist at prestigious venues like Wigmore Hall and is a core member of several ensembles, including Dowland Works directed by Dame Emma Kirkby. His debut solo album "Secret Fires of Love" was released in 2018 and featured on BBC Radio 3. In 2022, Thomson won the Salvat Beca Bach tenor prize in Barcelona.
