Sabine Lutzenberger

Sabine Lutzenberger is a renowned German mezzo-soprano and early music specialist known for her expertise in medieval and Renaissance repertoire. She completed her recorder studies at the Musikhochschule Zürich and furthered her vocal training in medieval and Baroque singing at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Lutzenberger has been a key member of the Ensemble for Early Music Augsburg and the founder of the ensemble PER-SONAT, which is dedicated to performing and reviving medieval music. Her repertoire stretches from the 9th to the 17th centuries, and she is also noted for engaging with contemporary music, blending historical performance with avant-garde elements. She has collaborated with notable early music groups like Mala Punica, Huelgas Ensemble, Sequentia, and Concerto Palatino, establishing herself as a leading figure in early music circles in Europe.

Besides her early music career, Sabine Lutzenberger is part of the innovative project Helium Vola, where she combines medieval lyrics with electronic and avant-garde music, showcasing her versatility and pioneering spirit. She has performed extensively at major early music festivals across Europe, including the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht and the Festival van Vlaanderen, and continues to be a vibrant presence on the early music scene, both as a soloist and ensemble leader.
