Hanoi Rocks

Hanoi Rocks is a Finnish rock band that made a profound impact on the glam rock scene of the 1980s, known for their flamboyant style and fusion of punk and traditional rock 'n' roll. The group was formed in 1980 by vocalist Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy, who became the core of the band, leading the group with their chemistry and distinctive looks. Throughout their career, they gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and catchy tunes that echoed the spirit of early rock influencers while incorporating an edgy, punk flair.

Their musical journey includes notable albums like "Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks" (1981), which set the tone for their distinct sound, and "Two Steps From The Move" (1984) that marked the peak of their career. Despite their growing fame, the band faced tragedy in 1984 when drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley died in a car accident, an event that led to the band's dissolution the following year. The group reunited in 2001 and released "Twelve Shots On The Rocks" (2002), proving they still had the charisma and rock vigor of their early days. They continued their resurgence with a series of releases before parting ways once again in 2009. Hanoi Rocks' influence extended beyond their albums, as they inspired a new generation of glam metal bands, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape.
