Soulburn is a Dutch extreme metal force that's been conjuring darkness since the mid-90s, born from the ashes of legendary death/doom act Asphyx. These veterans of the underground craft a vicious blend of blackened death metal with doom's crushing weight, perfect for fans of leather-clad nihilism and frostbitten riffs. After a lengthy hiatus following their cult classic debut album, the band roared back to life in 2014 with members from Asphyx and Grand Supreme Blood Court, dropping bangers like *The Suffocating Darkness* and *Noa's D'ark* that prove old-school extremity never dies. Their recent outputs like *Shrines of Apathy* and *Earthless Pagan Spirit* continue their tradition of apocalyptic themes and raw, no-frills aggression - the musical equivalent of a medieval battleaxe to the face, but in the best possible way.
