Ľudové Mladistvá

Ľudové Mladistvá is a Slovak jazz ensemble formed in 2016, known for blending elements of folklore, jazz, classical, and contemporary music. The project is led by Martin Štefánik, a young composer and pianist who has a deep interest in traditional Slovak music. He has researched and revived old Slovak folk songs, incorporating them into modern arrangements that appeal to fans of jazz and world music. The band's performances often feature a female chorus and improvisations, creating a dynamic and sophisticated sound. Ľudové Mladistvá gained recognition in 2016 by winning several awards, including "Discovery of the Year" at the Bratislava Jazz Days and the Radio_Head Award for "Best New Act." They released their debut album, *Viete ako…*, in 2018, which showcases their unique fusion of traditional and modern musical elements.

Some of their notable tracks include "A ja taka čarna" and "Hojana," which demonstrate their ability to craft catchy and emotive songs. The band has performed at prominent festivals like Bratislava Jazz Days and Pohoda, showcasing their energetic and creative approach to music.
