Dino Felipe is a Miami-based recording artist of Cuban descent, known for his eclectic and experimental approach to music. Starting to record at the age of six, he embraced home recording techniques early on and developed a sound that blends experimental noise, post-punky cold wave, lo-fi pop, digital bebop, and danceable rhythms. His diverse style has earned him praise from critics, with Pitchfork dubbing him a "sound wizard." Over the years, Dino has released numerous albums and collaborated with various artists such as FKTRN, Hair & Nails, and Old Bombs. He typically uses electronic drums, guitars, bass guitar, a Korg SH-202, vocals, and computer software to create his unique textures.
Felipe’s first official release came after his early cassettes were discovered by Schematic Records in 2001, leading to the album *Dino Felipe : As Flim Toby*. He gained recognition as a pioneering figure in the Miami and Atlanta bass glitch scenes, being called the “enfant terrible” by Dusted Magazine. Throughout his career, he has worked with labels like No Fun Productions and Soft Abuse and produced or mastered music for other artists including R. Stevie Moore. Despite his prolific output and critical acclaim, he tours infrequently due to logistical reasons. His 2010 album *My Vomit Is A Crystal Ball* was named a “big winner” by the Miami New Times, cementing his status as a unique and important voice in underground electronic music.
