Ram Mehar Mahla is an Indian folk musician and singer from Punjab, born in 1975, who has spent his career preserving and popularising traditional Punjabi folk music; he is known for his resonant voice, skill on the tumbi and dhol, and for releasing acclaimed albums such as Punjab Di Dharti and Mitti Di Khushboo that blend classic rural ballads with contemporary arrangements, while also performing regularly at cultural festivals across India and collaborating with other notable Punjabi artists to keep the region’s musical heritage alive.
