La Femme is a French psych-punk rock band whose music is an eclectic amalgamation of cold wave, punk, and pop with electronic elements. Emerging from Biarritz, which is in the French Basque country, the band was founded by keyboard player Marlon Magnée and guitarist Sacha Got while still in high school. Quickly making a mark in the French music scene with their intriguing blend of diverse genres, La Femme became known for their unique sound that is both contemporary and reminiscent of French yé-yé pop of the 1960s.
Their debut album, "Psycho Tropical Berlin," released in 2013, won the Victoires de la Musique award for Best Debut Album, propelling La Femme into the international limelight. With resonant tracks like "Sur la planche" and "Nous étions deux," their music exudes an energetic yet suave vibe that reflects both the urban landscape and their coastal roots. They’ve continued to evolve musically with their subsequent releases, including "Mystère" and "Paradigmes," which include tracks like "Strike" and the breezy "Paris-Hawaï," marrying atmospheric synth lines with rhythmic pulses. Through their dynamic live performances and their recent endeavors, such as "Teatro Lúcido" and the immersive "Levitation Sessions (Live)," La Femme has solidified their role as innovators and stalwarts of the European indie music scene.
