Frédéric Devreese is a Belgian composer and conductor. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He has composed a wide range of works, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and operas. His music is often characterized by its use of traditional Flemish folk melodies and rhythms. Devreese has received numerous awards for his work, including the Belgian State Prize for Music Composition in 1985. He is currently the artistic director of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra.
