Denis Kozhukhin

Denis Kozhukhin is an internationally acclaimed pianist known for his profound musicality, technical brilliance, and interpretative depth. Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in 1986, Kozhukhin was exposed to music from an early age, receiving piano lessons from his mother. His talent rapidly became evident, leading him to pursue formal training at the Balakirev School of Music. Kozhukhin continued his studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid with Dimitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martínez-Mehner, later enhancing his skills at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium and the Piano Academy at Lake Como.

Kozhukhin's career leapfrogged to new heights following his First Prize win at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2010. Since then, he has performed with leading orchestras and at notable concert halls worldwide, forging a reputation for his expressive interpretations and masterful performances of a diverse repertoire. Kozhukhin's discography reflects his versatility, encompassing Romantic staples, such as Grieg's Piano Works and the Concertos by Tchaikovsky and Grieg, alongside robust 20th-century pieces like Prokofiev's "War Sonatas" and the Ravel and Gershwin Piano Concertos. His approach to the classical canon is equally respected, with critically acclaimed recordings of Haydn's Piano Sonatas and Brahms' introspective Ballades and Fantasies. Kozhukhin's profound connection to each composition he tackles makes him a standout figure in the world of classical piano.
