Nadja

Nadja is an experimental duo known for crafting a unique blend of ambient, drone, and doom metal, creating soundscapes rich in both texture and emotional depth. Comprising Aidan Baker (guitar, vocals, piano, woodwinds, drums, and electronics) and Leah Buckareff (bass and accordion), the band was formed in Toronto, Canada in 2005. They quickly became noted for their prolific output and the immersive nature of their heavily distorted, slow-moving sound that simultaneously embraced darkness and light.

Their discography is extensive, featuring an array of full-length albums, EPs, collaborations, and split releases that explore the nuances of minimalism and maximalism in heavy music. Recent releases such as "Luminous Rot" and "Labyrinthine" epitomize their ability to evolve within their genre, interweaving elements of gothic and industrial music into their signature drone framework. The remastered version of "Sv" in 2023 demonstrates the timelessness of their art, as Nadja continues to mesmerize listeners with their hypnotic blend of sounds that feel as vast as they are introspective. Through relentless innovation and a dedication to their craft, Nadja has cemented their status as icons in the underground music scenes that they traverse and influence.
