The San Francisco Symphony Chorus is the official chorus of the San Francisco Symphony, based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1973 by conductor Kurt Herbert Adler, the ensemble has been led for many years by chorus director Ragnar Bohlin and is known for anchoring the orchestra’s big symphonic-choral repertoire as well as tackling contemporary works.
You’ll hear them on recordings and in concert in staples like Mahler symphonies and Brahms’s *Ein deutsches Requiem*, but they’re equally comfortable in modern and 20th/21st-century music—showcasing the polished blend, power, and precision you’d expect from a top-tier American symphony chorus.
