Florian Lohmann

Florian Lohmann is a German tenor and choral conductor who started his musical journey as a member of the Knabenchor Hannover. He has a broad educational background, having studied school music, German studies, voice, and voice pedagogy, and was awarded a scholarship by the Evangelische Studienstiftung Villigst. His training in choir conducting was shaped by notable instructors like Frank Löhr and Jörg Straube, and he further refined his skills through masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Paul van Nevel and Frieder Bernius. Lohmann serves as the artistic director of several prestigious ensembles, including the Gifhorner Kammerchor, Capella St Crucis, and Collegium Vocale Hannover. Beyond conducting, he is an active tenor soloist and has held teaching positions at multiple music universities, currently teaching choir conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt. He lives in Hannover and his work spans from historically-informed performances to contemporary vocal music, including premieres and international concert tours.
