From First To Last is an American post-hardcore band renowned for their impactful contributions to the emo and screamo scenes of the early 2000s. Formed in 1999 in Los Angeles, California, the outfit initially made waves with the explosive energy and youthful angst of their 2004 debut album, "Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count". Building on the momentum, they continued to innovate and refine their sound with subsequent releases, including their widely acclaimed sophomore effort, "Heroine" in 2006, which showcased a more experimental and polished approach.
Over the years, From First To Last underwent several lineup changes, with the most notable member being frontman Sonny Moore, who later achieved massive success as the electronic music producer and DJ, Skrillex, after departing the band in 2007. FFTL's discography reflects a journey through various stylistic shifts, culminating in albums such as "Throne To The Wolves" in 2010, and their 2015 self-titled EP. After a hiatus, the band resurfaced with vigor, releasing singles like "Make War" and "Surrender" while reuniting with Moore for select recordings and performances. Their 2016 album "Dead Trees" marked a renewed era of creativity, featuring Spencer Sotelo as lead vocalist, demonstrating the band's capacity to evolve while resonating with a new generation of alternative music fans.
