Gravitar

Gravitar is an American noise rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1992. The band was founded by Eric Cook, Harry Richardson, and Geoff Walker. Richardson left the band in 1995 and was replaced by Michael J. Walker, Geoff's brother. Gravitar's music is characterized by its improvisational nature and influences from experimental, jazz, heavy metal, and psychedelic genres. Their discography includes albums like *Chinga Su Corazon* (initially released in 1993 but listed as 1994 in some sources), *Gravitaativaravitar* (1995), *Now The Road Of Knives* (1997), and *You Must First Learn to Draw the Real* (1999). These albums showcase the band's diverse and experimental sound.

Gravitar was active until 2002, and during their time, they were associated with the Charnel Music label. Their music often features complex, improvisational arrangements that reflect their eclectic musical tastes. The band's name, Gravitar, was chosen by Harold Richardson, and it reflects the dense, heavy sound that the band aimed to create. Despite their active period ending, Gravitar's legacy remains notable in the noise rock and experimental music scenes.
