Turbostaat

Turbostaat is a German punk band formed in 1999 in Husum, Schleswig-Holstein. The group originated from the ashes of punk band Exil, with its members relocating and reconvening in the city of Flensburg. The band consists of Jan Windmeier (vocals), Marten Ebsen (guitar), Peter Carstens (bass), Tobias ‘Tobert’ Knapp (guitar), and Matthias 'Matze' Falke (drums). Known for their energetic performances and socially critical lyrics, they quickly garnered a following with their distinctive blend of punk rock sounds and astute observations on contemporary issues.

Throughout their career, Turbostaat has established itself as a staple in the German punk music scene, sticking to their roots while steadily evolving their sound. Their discography is an impressive collection of raw and emotionally charged anthems. With albums such as "Uthlande," released in 2020, they continued to deliver thought-provoking and politicized lyrics combined with raucous guitars and captivating melodies. The tracks mentioned, including "Der weiche Kern," and "Rattenlinie Nord," exemplify the band's enduring commitment to addressing complex subjects while maintaining a visceral punk energy that resonates with a broad audience. Whether they're railing against social injustices or painting poetic pictures of northern German landscapes, Turbostaat's music remains both reflective and rebelliously spirited.
