Joddski

Jørgen Nordeng, better known by his stage name Joddski, is an influential figure in the Norwegian hip hop scene. Hailing from Bodø, a city in the Nordland region of Northern Norway, Joddski started his musical journey as a member of the pioneering hip hop group Tungtvann, which he co-founded in the late 1990s with fellow rapper Poppa Lars. The duo was critically acclaimed for their albums and for shaping the Norwegian rap landscape with their distinctive dialect and regional pride.

After Tungtvann disbanded in the mid-2000s, Joddski continued his career as a solo artist, embedding his northern roots into his music and lyrics. With works like "Nord-Norge Fest" and "Grove Takter," he celebrates the culture and toughness of Northern Norway, often incorporating local dialects and addressing regional issues. Joddski's authenticity and ability to tell vivid stories through his music resonate with a broad audience, making him a respected veteran in the Nordic hip hop community. His collaborations, such as "Railltut" with Hålogalandslaget, and his forays into different styles like the "Manana Remix" and "Jævla Nordlendinga Remix," showcase his versatility and willingness to evolve within the genre.
