Lightwave

Lightwave is an ambient electronic music project founded in 1984 in Paris, France by keyboardists Christoph Harbonnier and Christian Wittman. The duo creates extended works that have been described as "sonic architecture," known for their slowly unfolding compositions that blend electronic and acoustic elements. Lightwave has collaborated with various artists over the years, including Hector Zazou, Michel Redolfi, Jon Hassell, and Paul Haslinger.

Throughout their career, Lightwave has explored unique sonic landscapes, often drawing inspiration from scientific and philosophical concepts. Their albums like "Tycho Brahé" (1994) and "Mundus Subterraneus" (1995) showcase their innovative approach to ambient music, combining cosmic themes with intricate soundscapes. The group has also experimented with recording in unusual locations, such as caves and observatories, to create their distinctive sound.
