Fawzi Haimor is an internationally acclaimed conductor born in Chicago in 1983 and raised in the Middle East and the San Francisco Bay Area. He trained as a violinist and developed a deep passion for conducting, choosing to dedicate his career to leading orchestras and sharing music with audiences worldwide. Haimor has held prominent positions such as Resident Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. Known for his collaborative approach, he bridges the orchestra and the audience, creating unique musical experiences by blending his interpretations with the musicians' insights.
Throughout his career, Haimor has conducted major ensembles including the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Sinfónica do Porto, and New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. He is especially noted for his performances of late German Romantic repertoire and 19th- and 20th-century Russian and American works, alongside being a champion of contemporary music, premiering pieces by composers like Mason Bates and Kareem Roustom. His discography features critically acclaimed recordings such as Furtwängler’s Symphony No. 1, Eduard Franck’s Piano Concertos, and orchestral works by George Antheil. Recently, he was appointed Music Director of the Marin Symphony Orchestra, cementing his status as a dynamic force in the classical music world.
