Frog Eyes

Frog Eyes is a Canadian indie rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia in 2001. Known for their idiosyncratic sounds and the distinctive voice of lead singer-songwriter Carey Mercer, the band's music is a blend of experimental rock, art-pop, and avant-garde baroque. Combining poetic lyrics with raw emotional intensity, Frog Eyes have carved out a niche in the indie music scene that resonates with fans of the offbeat and the earnest alike. Over the years, they have gained a reputation for their energetic and often unpredictable live performances.

Through their career, Frog Eyes have released several thought-provoking and critically acclaimed albums. Their work, including "Carey's Cold Spring" (2013) and "Pickpocket's Locket" (2015), showcases the band's evolution in sound and ability to tackle various themes with depth and intricacy. The more recent albums like "Violet Psalms" (2018) embody the band's ambitious approach to crafting dense, textured soundscapes, laced with Mercer's evocative lyrics and emotional delivery. Following the release of "Violet Psalms," Frog Eyes announced they would be disbanding after the completion of their final tour, bringing an end to their extraordinary two-decade journey that left an indelible mark on the indie music world.
