Born Barry Ian Green in London, England, he began his music career as a member of the band The Planets. After the band's breakup, Blue went solo and released his debut album, "Barry Blue," in 1973. The album featured the hit single "(Dancing) on a Saturday Night," which reached number one in the UK and several other countries. Blue continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the 1970s, including "Do You Wanna Dance," "A Lover Lovin' You," and "Tough Kids." He has also appeared in several films and television shows, including the 1975 musical "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
