Factory of Art is a German power and progressive metal band from Leipzig, founded in 1990. Initially, they started as an instrumental art rock band but soon evolved into a more complex sound, incorporating elements of speed metal and thrash metal. Over the years, they have had several lineup changes, with notable members contributing to their distinctive style. The band gained recognition through their participation in the "Thrash the Wall" competition by Roadrunner Records and later released their debut album *Grasp!!!* in 1996 via AFM Records. Other notable releases include the EP *Point of No Return* (1997), the single *Story of Pain* (1999), and the album *The Tempter* (2002). After a hiatus starting in 2006, the band resumed activity in 2019.
Their music is characterized by powerful, melodic power metal with influences from bands like Queensrÿche and Helloween. Factory of Art's sound also includes progressive elements, making them a unique presence in the metal scene. Their recent activity includes the release of *Back to Live* in 2024, marking a return to the music scene after years of inactivity.
