Jazz Gillum

Jazz Gillum was an American blues harmonica player and singer. He was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, in 1904. Gillum began playing the harmonica at a young age, and he quickly developed a unique style that was influenced by both country blues and jazz. In the 1930s, Gillum began recording for the Bluebird label, and he quickly became one of the most popular blues musicians of the era. He recorded a number of hit songs, including "Key to the Highway" and "Down South Blues." Gillum continued to perform and record until his death in 1966.
