Fernando Mendes

Fernando Mendes is a Brazilian singer and composer who rose to prominence in the 1970s. Born Luiz Fernando Mendes Ferreira on May 7, 1950 in Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais, he got his big break in 1972 with the hit song "A Desconhecida." Mendes reached the peak of his career in 1975 with the release of "Cadeira de Rodas," which sold over 250,000 copies and earned him a gold record.

Throughout his career, Mendes has released numerous albums and hit songs, including "Você não Me Ensinou a Te Esquecer," which gained renewed popularity when it was covered by Caetano Veloso in 2003. He continues to perform and record music, with a discography spanning several decades.
