The Filthy Tongues

The Filthy Tongues are a Scottish rock trio emerging from Edinburgh's vibrant music scene, formed by veterans of iconic bands like Goodbye Mr. MacKenzie and Angelfish. Fronted by Martin Metcalfe (vocals/guitar) alongside rhythm section Fin Wilson (bass) and Derek Kelly (drums), they craft brooding, cinematic soundscapes steeped in their city's gothic allure. Since their 2016 debut *Jacob's Ladder*, they've channeled Edinburgh's shadowy closes and hidden histories into moody anthems like "Underground City" and "Back to Hell." Their recent work includes the haunting *Damascene* soundtrack and 2023's *In These Dark Places* EP, maintaining their signature blend of post-punk grit and lyrical storytelling about urban decay, redemption, and Scotland's rain-soaked soul.
