The Movements

The Movements are a Swedish psychedelic rock band that emerged from Gothenburg in the early 2000s, blending fuzzy garage-rock energy with trippy, retro-flavored soundscapes. Known for their love of 60s/70s-inspired grooves and experimental flair, the band—featuring members like David Henriksson (vocals), Christian “Krita” Johansson (guitar), Thomas Widmark (bass), and Dag Öhman (drums)—has carved out a niche as stalwarts of Europe’s psych-rock scene. Their discography, including the two-part *Like Elephants* albums (2014) and *The World, The Flesh And The Devil* (2017), showcases their knack for pairing hypnotic riffs with lysergic storytelling, often dipping into themes of existentialism and cosmic weirdness.

Live, The Movements are celebrated for their raw, immersive performances, having toured extensively across festivals and clubs. Tracks like *The Death of John Hall D.Y.* and *My Inner Child* highlight their balance of melody and chaos, while their 2023 singles (*The Battle of Being in Love* / *My Inner Child*) prove they’re still pushing their sonic boundaries. With a reputation for both reverence to rock’s past and a knack for modern experimentation, they’ve become a cult favorite for fans of bands like The Black Angels or Brian Jonestown Massacre.
