Melvins

Formed in Montesano, Washington in 1983, the Melvins are an enduring and influential band that has played a critical role in the development of both grunge and sludge metal. Founding members Buzz Osborne (often known as King Buzzo) on guitar and vocals, and Mike Dillard on drums, were later joined by Dale Crover who took over the drumming responsibilities as Dillard left the band. With their heavy, slow tempos and experimental approach to music, the Melvins have consistently pushed the boundaries of the rock genre.

Over the decades, the Melvins have maintained a prolific output, with their varied discography ranging from full-length albums to EPs and collaborative projects. While the band line-up has seen changes throughout their career, Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover have been constants, driving the band's creative force. Their recent works, such as "Bad Mood Rising" and "Broken Pipe EP," continue to showcase the band's affinity for dense, powerful sounds paired with eclectic artistic endeavors. Despite numerous shifts in the music industry, the Melvins have remained uncompromising in their artistry, influencing countless bands with their distinct and innovative style. Albums like "Five Legged Dog," which includes acoustic versions of their songs such as "Sway," "Revolve," "Pitfalls in Serving Warrants," and "Night Goat," display the band's versatility and the raw power of their songwriting stripped down to its core elements. With the 2021 release of "Working with God" and tracks like "1 Fuck You," the band reaffirms their status as unflinching pioneers in the alternative music scene.
