Celer is the ambient music project of Will Long, an American musician, educator, writer, and photographer currently based in Japan. Established in 2005, Celer was initially a duo consisting of Will Long and his then-wife Danielle Baquet. After Danielle's untimely passing in 2009, Long continued Celer as a solo project, honoring the memory of their shared artistic vision. Celer's compositions are often characterized by their minimalistic approach, focusing on drone, soundscapes, and the nuanced manipulation of acoustic and electronic sources to evoke emotive, slowly unfolding narratives.
Over the years, Celer has garnered international acclaim for its prolific output and the deeply contemplative nature of its music. The project’s discography is vast, with an extensive collection of releases that explore the intersections of harmony, stasis, and the passage of time. Long's dedication to the craft is evidenced by a combination of new productions and remastered versions of earlier works, such as "Discourses of the Withered," "The Everything and the Nothing," and "Sunspots," all bearing the hallmarks of his delicate and immersive sound. Capturing ephemeral moments and turning them into aural experiences, Celer’s body of work reflects a meditative journey that resonates with listeners across the globe.
