Franklin "Frank" Delano Williams was a prominent figure in gospel music, born on June 27, 1947, in Smithville, Mississippi. He began his musical journey as a child, performing with his family and later joining the Williams Brothers. In 1964, Frank teamed up with his brother Huey to become part of The Jackson Southernaires, a gospel group that would go on to achieve significant success.
Williams' career took a major turn when he joined Malaco Records in 1975, eventually becoming the head of the label's gospel division in 1979. He was instrumental in forming the Mississippi Mass Choir in 1988, which quickly rose to prominence in the gospel music scene. Tragically, Frank Williams passed away on March 22, 1993, at the age of 45, leaving behind a rich legacy in gospel music.
