Brad Turner

**Brad Turner** is a Vancouver-based jazz multi-instrumentalist and composer known for his versatility on trumpet, piano, and drums. A cornerstone of Canada’s jazz scene, he’s spent decades blending post-bop energy with modern textures, whether leading his own groups or collaborating with acts like Metalwood and the Hard Rubber Orchestra. His recent releases—from the live energy of *Cotton Club Live* and *The CBC Tapes* to the genre-hopping *Polyglot* and festive *No Name for Christmas*—showcase his knack for balancing intricate improvisation with melodic warmth. A Juno Award winner for his 2006 album *Struggle & Emerge*, Turner also teaches at Capilano University, mentoring the next generation of Canadian jazz talent while staying active as a performer who keeps audiences on their toes.
