Second Come

**Second Come** is a guitar band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, formed in 1989. They were among the pioneers of the Brazilian guitar movement, which preceded the indie rock scene in Brazil. The band's sound was influenced by international bands like Sonic Youth and The Cure, and they were known for their energetic live performances and lyrics in English. Their first demo, "Violent Kiss," was released in 1989, and they gained recognition as one of the breakthrough bands of 1990. Second Come's first album, "You," was released in 1993 and received significant attention, even charting ahead of Sepultura in some local rankings. The band also released "Superkids, Superdrugs, Supergod and Strangers" in 1994 before experiencing lineup changes and eventual reunions. Despite their early success, Second Come faced challenges in maintaining mainstream visibility, especially on MTV Brazil during the early days of the channel. The band was active until 2018.
