Formed in 2010, the band consists of vocalist and guitarist Kevin Martin, bassist and vocalist Sarah Johnson, and drummer and vocalist Matt Johnson. Their music is characterized by its dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes, intricate guitar work, and introspective lyrics. Quiet is the new Loud has released four albums to date, including "Hidden Code" (2014), "How Did We Survive so Long?" (2017), "Penelope" (2020), and "The Noise of Ocean's Last Whale" (2023). The band has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and has shared the stage with acts such as The National, Bon Iver, and Sufjan Stevens.
