Esther Van Hees

Esther Van Hees is a Belgian jazz singer born in 1991 who has developed a rich career blending lyrical jazz and indie influences. She studied jazz singing at the Tilburg Conservatory and released her debut EP "Got Wings" in 2013. Since then, she has collaborated with guitarist Mateusz Pulawski in the project "Esther en Mateusz," released albums featuring Dutch song arrangements, and forms one half of the indie-jazz duo Blue Sands with bassist Reindert Kragt. Blue Sands is known for its cinematic and dreamy sound, highlighted in their 2020 EP "Flowers Made of Clay" and 2022 album "No Longer Blue." Esther’s versatile voice and deep love for jazz have also led her to perform internationally with projects like Natanael Ramos’s sextet "Islander's Dilemma," and she teaches vocal technique at the Conservatory of Suriname.
