Rolando Laserie, often referred to affectionately as "El Guapo de la Canción" (The Handsome Singer), was a prominent figure in the Latin music scene, particularly known for his contribution to the Cuban music genre. Born on August 27, 1923, in the town of Las Tunas, Cuba, Laserie's melodic voice and charismatic stage presence quickly made him a favorite among fans of bolero, guaracha, and son montuno.

Laserie's career spanned several decades, during which he was part of the famed Cuban orchestra "La Sonora Matancera," before eventually pursuing a successful solo career. His knack for interpretation and his unique voice led him to record numerous hits that have since been remastered to preserve their vintage sound for new generations. Some of his most beloved tracks include "La Pachanga," "Capullito de alelí," and "Mentiras tuyas," each one showcasing his ability to bring life and emotion to the Latin rhythms of his time.
