Rammstein is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band known for their explosive and theatrical live performances, as well as their controversial and often provocative music videos and lyrics. Formed in Berlin in 1994, the band consists of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, guitarists Richard Z. Kruspe and Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz. Their music is characterized by a blend of hard rock, industrial metal, and electronic influences, defiantly carried by Lindemann's distinctive deep and bellowing vocal style.
The group has enjoyed a fervently loyal fanbase and international success over the years, due in part to the universal themes found within their dark and sometimes satirical lyrics, often exploring love, sexuality, and individuality, against the backdrop of complex and often politically charged narratives. Since their breakthrough with the iconic single "Du hast" from their second album "Sehnsucht" (1997), Rammstein has consistently pushed the boundaries of the rock genre. The band's meticulous attention to detail is evident in their cinematic music videos and pyrotechnic-heavy live performances, which have become a signature aspect of their identity. With a career spanning over two decades, Rammstein remains one of the most influential and enduring acts in the heavy music scene, consistently releasing new material like "Zeit" and "Adieu," and reinventing their sound while maintaining the essence that first captured the attention of fans around the globe.
