Alain Pérez

Alain Pérez is a multifaceted Cuban musician, composer, arranger, producer, and singer, known for his dynamic fusion of Latin jazz, salsa, son, and other Afro-Cuban music genres. Born in 1977 in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, into a family deeply rooted in musical tradition, Alain developed an early passion for music and quickly mastered various instruments, with a focus on the bass. His journey as a professional musician began in the 1990s, and since then, he has worked alongside some of the greatest names in Latin music, including Paco de Lucía, Issac Delgado, and Celia Cruz.

Pérez's solo career has been marked by innovative projects that reflect his virtuosity and deep understanding of Cuban music's evolution. His recent releases, such as "La Lámpara" and "Pa To' La Vida," showcase his skill in blending contemporary sounds with classic rhythms, creating a listening experience that is both fresh and rooted in tradition. "Manteca 2.0" is a particularly noteworthy release, serving as a tribute to the legends Chano Pozo and Dizzy Gillespie and their fusion of Cuban music with jazz. Alain Pérez's music is an embodiment of his cultural heritage and his continuous quest to push the boundaries of Latin music.
