Cavern of Anti-Matter

Cavern of Anti-Matter is an enigmatic and exploratory music project formed by Tim Gane, the co-founder and guitarist of the influential post-rock band Stereolab, along with synth player Holger Zapf and former Stereolab drummer Joe Dilworth. The band coalesced around Gane's ever-present fascination with experimental electronic music, Krautrock, and sonic manipulation. Emerging from the afterglow of Stereolab's hiatus, Cavern of Anti-Matter's sonic identity is marked by a blend of analog synthesizers, drum machines, and conventional instrumentation, creating soundscapes that are both nostalgic and futuristic.

Since their formation, they have released a slew of esoteric and critically-acclaimed recordings, with the "In Fabric OST" showcasing their knack for crafting atmospheric scores to accompany film narratives – in this case, British horror film "In Fabric." With albums like "Hormone Lemonade" and "Blood Drums," they exhibit a penchant for extended krautrock-inspired jams and avant-garde electronics, demonstrating their unique ability to fuse the experimental borders of sound with a rhythmic pulse. Their inventive layering of textures and patterns often culminates in hypnotic tracks, signified by titles such as "Phase Modulation Shuffle (Edit)" and "Make Out Fade Out," which have helped to cement their status as a distinctive force within the experimental music scene.
