Këkht Aräkh is the raw and atmospheric one-person black metal project of the Ukrainian artist Dmitry Marchenko. Based in Kyiv, he's known for crafting a uniquely haunting and melancholic sound that blends traditional black metal with strong elements of dungeon synth and darkwave. The music often feels less aggressive and more introspective, evoking a sense of lonely, frostbitten melancholy and medieval sorrow.
His breakout release was the 2021 album *Pale Swordsman* on the cult label Livor Mortis, which gained a significant underground following for its emotional, lo-fi sound. The project's themes are deeply personal, drawing from feelings of loneliness, depression, and fantasy, often delivered through minimalist yet evocative songwriting. Këkht Aräkh stands out for creating immersive, depressive atmospheres that feel both ancient and deeply personal.
