British Lions were a late-1970s British rock band born from the ashes of Mott the Hoople, featuring former members like bassist Pete "Overend" Watts and keyboardist Morgan Fisher. Joined by Medicine Head's John Fiddler on vocals, the group leaned into a gritty, pub-rock-inspired sound that swapped glam-era theatrics for punchy, no-nonsense guitar riffs and singalong choruses. Their self-titled 1978 debut album, *British Lions*, and its rowdy live counterpart *Roaring To Go!* captured their working-class swagger, with tracks like "Trouble With Women" showcasing their knack for scrappy anthems. Despite a devoted cult following, the band dissolved in the early 1980s, leaving behind a short-but-sweet legacy of blue-collar rock energy that still roars on classic rock playlists today.
