Julia Huber-Warzecha is a German baroque violinist who has made a name for herself in the world of early music. She began her violin studies with her mother and later trained with Walter Forchert, which led to her first professional position at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg. Alongside her orchestral work, Julia pursued her passion for historical performance by studying baroque violin with Mary Utiger. In 1997, she won the International Locatelli Competition in Amsterdam, and since 2000 she has focused entirely on her career as a freelance baroque violinist.
Julia is known for her work as concertmistress and principal violinist with leading period-instrument ensembles like L’Orfeo Barockorchester, Neue Düsseldorfer Hofmusik, and La Stagione Frankfurt. She regularly performs and records with Trio Fortepiano and as a duo with fortepianist Miriam Altmann, specializing in music from the early classical and early romantic periods. Julia plays on a violin from the Mantua school, dating from around 1680, and her performances are praised for their historical insight and expressive musicianship.
