Arkady Shilkloper

Arkady Shilkloper is a renowned Moscow-born horn player, celebrated for his versatility and contributions to jazz. Born in 1956, he began playing the alto horn at age six and later transitioned to the French horn. Shilkloper's early career included performances with the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic Symphony in the 1970s and 80s. He is perhaps best known for his work in improvised jazz, collaborating with notable artists such as Elvin Jones, Lew Soloff, Pierre Favre, and the Vienna Art Orchestra. Shilkloper is also a key member of the Moscow Art Trio, a group known for its unique blend of folk, fusion, and progressive rock elements.
