Redlounge Orchestra

Redlounge Orchestra is the chill-out and lounge music project led by Hamburg-based producer and cellist Carsten Roggenbuck, active since 2005. Known for creating picturesque, atmospheric sounds, the project blends electronic programming with live instruments such as cello, guitar, and violin (played by Christoph Drave). Their music has gained international recognition, appearing on popular compilations like Barlounge Classics and Cafe del Mar. Over the years, they have released several albums, including *photogrammes* (2006), *Slow Motion City* (2008), and the recent *L'espace ouvert* (2025), combining influences from ambient, dub, soundtrack composers, and electronic pioneers into a richly textured lounge experience.

Carsten Roggenbuck’s production work extends beyond Redlounge Orchestra, encompassing remixes and projects in diverse styles, but Redlounge Orchestra remains a defining outlet for his signature blend of electronic beats, ambient moods, and refined instrumental layers. The project has a solid presence in the lounge scene with both albums and live performances, noted for their sophisticated, cinematic vibe that transports listeners into relaxed yet dynamic soundscapes.
