Franz Welser-Möst

Franz Welser-Möst is an Austrian conductor who has made a name for himself in the world of classical music. Born in Linz, Austria, in 1960, Welser-Möst began his musical journey at a young age, studying violin and conducting. He went on to study at the Vienna Conservatory and the Juilliard School in New York City.

Welser-Möst has held positions as music director of several prestigious orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the Bavarian State Opera. He is known for his passionate and energetic performances, as well as his commitment to new music and contemporary composers. Welser-Möst has also been involved in several educational initiatives, including the founding of the Franz Welser-Möst Conducting Academy in Austria.
