Föllakzoid

Föllakzoid is a Chilean psychedelic rock band known for their hypnotic soundscapes that blend elements of space rock, krautrock, and minimal techno. The band was formed in Santiago in 2008 by childhood friends Domingo García-Huidobro on guitar, Diego Lorca on drums, and Juan Pablo Rodríguez on bass. They take inspiration from the cosmic landscapes of their homeland and the experiences with the native psychedelic plant, the San Pedro cactus, aiming to express a sort of spiritual and rhythmic unity within their music.

Over the years, Föllakzoid's work has evolved into a more electronic and rhythmic direction, while retaining the trance-induced states that characterize their early albums. With releases such as their self-titled debut "Föllakzoid" (2009) and subsequent albums "II" (2013), "III" (2015), and the more recent "I" and "IIII" (both 2019), they have captured the attention of the global underground scene, earning critical acclaim for their expansive and immersive live performances. Collaboration is also a component of their creative output, exemplified by "London Sessions," where they teamed up with J. Spaceman of Spacemen 3. Their music is not just heard but experienced, inviting listeners into prolonged meditative grooves and textured electronic excursions.
