Passion Pit is an American indietronica band hailing from Cambridge, Massachusetts, an eclectic project formed by lead singer and mastermind Michael Angelakos. The band burst onto the scene in 2008 with the release of their debut EP "Chunk of Change," initially a belated Valentine's Day gift from Angelakos to his then-girlfriend, which contained the track "Sleepyhead," a song that became synonymous with their whimsically high-pitched, synth-laden pop sound.

Following their debut, Passion Pit gained widespread acclaim with their first full-length album, "Manners," in 2009, including hits like "The Reeling" and "Little Secrets." Since then, Passion Pit's discography has continued to expand with notable works including "Gossamer" in 2012 and "Kindred" in 2015, albums that offered deeper emotional content while encapsulating the band's trademark upbeat electronic style. Their music often delves into themes of personal struggle and recovery, reflecting Angelakos' own experiences with mental health.
