Indochine

Indochine is a seminal French rock and new wave band that has made an indelible mark on the music scene, both in Francophone countries and beyond. Formed in 1981 in Paris, the group was initially composed of Nicola Sirkis and his twin brother Stéphane, along with Dimitri Bodianski and Dominique Nicolas. The band's name, a reference to the French colonial region in Southeast Asia, reflected their exotic and poetic sensibilities. Over the decades, through various lineup changes, Nicola Sirkis remained the constant as the frontman and mainstay of the group. Indochine's music is characterized by its catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and a distinctive blend of rock, electronic, and pop influences.

The band's longevity is a testament to their ability to evolve while still maintaining the core essence that made them popular. Some of Indochine's most recent work includes "Central Tour 2022," a testament to their enduring popularity and dynamic live performances. "This Is Not Our World (Ce n'est pas notre monde)" and "3SEX," a collaboration with Christine and the Queens, showcase their ability to tackle contemporary sounds and themes within their music. In 2020, Indochine celebrated their 40th anniversary with the release of the single "Nos célébrations," proving they remain relevant and beloved in the ever-changing musical landscape. Their album "13," released in 2017, was another success, adding to their impressive discography and confirming their status as one of the most influential and iconic French bands in music history.
