FRIGS (later known as Breeze) was a Toronto-based experimental rock band known for their brooding, atmospheric sound that blended post-punk, noise, and art-rock. Formed in 2015, the group featured Bria Salmena’s haunting vocals layered over grimy guitars and hypnotic rhythms, earning comparisons to acts like Sonic Youth and Chelsea Wolfe. Their 2018 debut album *Basic Behaviour* (featuring tracks like "Crop Circles" and "Solid State") showcased their raw intensity and lyrical introspection, while later releases like *II* and standalone singles ("Slush," "God Hates A Coward") leaned further into dissonant textures and moody experimentation. FRIGS dissolved in 2020, with members shifting focus to new projects, including Salmena’s work with alt-country outfit Orville Peck’s band. Their music remains a cult favorite for fans of dark, emotionally charged rock.
